Chapter 2
Digital and Social Media
I located a Web site that accommodates various readers at different levels of technicality. The site I found was DEA.gov, which is a government agency. I went and looked at this website because it is a good source of both general and specialized information. The Web site has a resource center, where one can ask common questions they may have as well as clicking on other links they may be interested in. The site has the option of changing the language to Spanish also. Those are just some examples on how the site addresses the primary readers but then proves appendices for secondary readers.
Chapter 10
Digital and Social Media
I found a Web page and a print document about how to build a desk I bought from Target, and there were many different ways in which material is organized on the Web versus print. The length of the user guide was not the same, online it was shorter than the print version. The online user guide has to be short because it is easier for readers to scan that way. The format was different as well, the online version was broken up into small portions so that short attention spans will not be overwhelmed by a large block of text. The print version had sub-headings to break information up. The print user guide also had illustrations but online it had useful web links and videos to refer to incase of confusion.
