DD4HW1 Chapters 11 & 13

Chapter 11
Digital and Social Media

It is important when writing to your instructor that your word choice, tone, and style are appropriate. Being a student is my job, and therefore I take writing emails to instructors and even students seriously. People forget that an email on the job has to be professionally written.  There are three parts to a workplace email, an introductory paragraph, which gets right to the point, a body text, which explains background details, and a conclusion, which invites further action. When writing the email I realized that autocorrect would fix my misspelled words a lot. I have always been a terrible speller and I have been relying on autocorrect too heavily to fix my mistakes. For instance the word misspelled was changed by autocorrect in my previous sentence because apparently I spell that word wrong often.

Chapter 13
Digital and Social Media

I realize the best way to make sure that your page layout on an important document is the same on all computers is to convert the document into a PDF. The digital and social media section showed me that in order to convert my word document into a PDF, all I had to do was go to File, Save As, and under Format, select PDF. I completed the conversion process with a copy of my resume.
